Ah, thank you! I usually put them carefully in one by one and just replant the duds. I only plant multiples if I'm strapped for time. Now I have a new gardening word. :)
I also have a split. I'm really proud of my son because even though he hates all veggies, he still eats them to stay healthy.
My daughter has been passionate about veggies from the moment she tasted one. She'll eat a whole head of broccoli like it's a cotton candy.
I'll try sugaree and save...
It was an accidental choice. I left the thing running for weeks before concluding the hydroponic pods were not pre-seeded, and just sprinkled some lettuce seeds in because I thought they'd be quick!
I know this isn't for me but I'm going to try these! I want LOTS of beans. I never seem to get very many, but it's hard to tell if it's lack of production or the 6 year old browsing. 😂 Know of any super extra ultra productive pea plants? I get like 6 pods each year because I know the little one...
Amaryllis are fun! I got one many years ago as a gift from my husband. It grew a big flower, and I lavished care on it. It promptly died.
I set it out in my garage thinking I'd clean out that pot some day, and it responded to being thrust in a back corner, ignored and unloved, by growing...
Well, since I don't plan to keep them I can put them to an awful lot of good use. :)
I plan to let my daughter practice potting them up without my meddling fingers getting in the way. She can practice uprooting them, putting them in the pot, and covering them up. She can practice grabbing them...
These tomato plants aren't for keeps. :) I was comparing one type of soil medium to another to see which had better results. Indoor conditions are quite pampered. My husband and extended family all know I like gardening, and have lavished some pretty sweet gardening gifts over the years.
I have...
It has been two weeks since I started seeds in ordinary potting soil. Germination rate was a lot poorer, with 25% not sprouting. Only 3 were close to the same size at 2 weeks, and none of them had a comparable root system.
Barely any root system at 2 weeks. Roots that are there are thinner...
This is the coolest thing! As it happens people have been bugging me to put stuff on my Christmas list and I have everything I want, so the list has been empty. I'll add this.
Come to think of it, my big happy tomatoes are on a heat mat but I don't even know if it is plugged in. If it is, I'll...
Growth on the seedlings not in the root riot cubes are positively dismal. They're 8 days old and haven't even put out true leaves yet.
The tomatoes that I started in the root riot cubes are huge and healthy. So much so, they're probably going to outgrow the tent before planting time. The...
I' m glad you're making the responsible choice. It's tough, but I think both Spot and his owners would end up suffering if he was released willy-nilly into the world.
Hi @Moon888 ! Glad you're finding my little corner interesting. I see you're from Australia. What is gardening there like?
Woke up in a hurry this morning. A juvenile raccoon was trying to raid the chicken coop. I didn't realize it until my 3 chihuahuas, who are way too small to take on a...
My brilliant mother in law brought by some insecticidal soap to try! I blasted off all the visible bugs, but I'll spray it with the soap an some neem oil for good measure and see if that kicks it.
Bugs the greenhouse again. Need oil and soap mixed with water doesn't work, but laying the plant sideways in the sink and blasting them down the drain does.
I guess it's daily water blasts until I find something that works.
