I want to get meat rabbits (as soon as I can convince dh!) :D I was wondering what breed choices everyone has and why? I really would like a large rabbit so that I can get more meat per butchering, but worry about the food conversions and if that is worth it. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Well, I just washed and dried in a salad spinner one bunch of kale, cut into small pieces, put them into a baking pan, sprinkled about a tablespoon of olive oilon them, mixed with my hands so they were coated, then sprinkled with kosher salt.
Baked in two batches at 350 for 10 minutes, stired...
I did the same... Stoped and picked up more plants!!! Where am I going to put them? I got early girls and celebrity 4 for 1.50! Came home with 8 plants...
Anyone have success growing from feedbags filled with soil?
I'm trying your recipe tonight! I'm using the bread maker on the dough setting because I'm lazy...
I'm also making due with what I have at the house... Dried cranberries and raisins for the fruit... I can't wait to try it!
What kind of healthy baked or dehydrated veggie chips have you tried? I'm looking forward to trying out zucchini chips in the dehydrator this year. I'm betting they'll be GREAT with humus!
What about storage for veggie chips? Any other ideas for healthy chips?
I just finished my first batch...
Thanks for the help! I already have other small veggies surrounding the center, so I'll just keep it to one mater per pot. I'll probably do miracle grow slightly weakened as well. Mother! Those are beautiful! I ditto Dace's question about your secret tips! :D
I have the same problem!! I do share though, I joined freecycle and am meeting a lady tomorrow who needs seeds to grow food for her family. :D Hey, at least I feel better about my problem!!
I am also growing in containers (wine barrels)! Looking for the same info. ALso, how many can I plant per half a barrel? Last year I planted WAY too many per barrel and had a lousy crop. I was planning on only one per barrel this time around...
 I doubt you'll have to worry about summer squash for a while!
Silkiechicken is right though, I'd hate to put so much time and energy into a plant to find it does terribly. I will definately try the seeds but the majority of my tomatoes will be my tried and true seed company brands.
This year I'll have:
cherokee purple
black krim
red currant
yellow pear
wild cherry
marmande
rutgers
early girl
I have an all raised bed garden of wine barrels and plan to have 12-14 tomato plants. I can't wait!!
I have a seed addiciton... I bought rutgers and beefsteak tomatoes, table queen squash, cauliflower, cabbage, bell peppers, carrots, sween banana peppers, cress, watermelon, morning glories, snapdragons, cosmos, alyssum, parsley, bachelor buttons, forget me not, aster, kohlarabi, radish and they...
4 packs for a dollar! I'm not sure if there are any dollar tree stores in your area, but I've been to several in my area and they all have seed packets for 25 cents apeice! Lots of veggies and annual flower seeds!
Just wanted to share the knowledge :D
Some really cute ideas! My little ones really enjoyed helping start seeds indoors a few months ago, I let them do the planting, then we put the trays by the woodstove to warm up. They loved telling me when a new seedling popped up and checked the trays first thing in the morning and several...
