OH! can I have your recipe for fermenting the peppers? I could probably add some anaheims to cut back on the heat right?
I LOVE the idea of adding some to vodka for bloody mary's!!! (my fave drink, I like it spicey!)
Well, it's my first time growning them and using them, I plan to make lots of fire roasted green salsa to can, and then of course some can go into chili verde along with some anaheims and jalepenos, and if there are any leftovers, I'll probably stick them in the freezer for mexican food uses...
Just as the title states... would it be safe to save seeds from the tomatillo's if they were close to any variety of tomato?
By the way, I'm so glad I became a member here, You guys have ben a wealth of knowledge!!

I've read the same thing about the creosote leaching, but I've also *heard* that after 10-15 years they won't leach into the soil anymore? Not sure if it's true or not! My parents are using them, they have no termites, and they haven't been getting sick...
Hubby brought home a load of jalepeno and either cyanne or serrano chilis(I can't tell) I don't know what to do with all of them!! We make our meals a little spicey, but not enough to go through what he brought home! He has a farmer relative and a couple of times during the season comes home...

I made ramen soup with pak choi, butterstick squash, and zucchini. Usually it's super yummy, but I overcooked the veggies while dealing with a toddler meltdown. It was mush. :(
I read somewhere that if you take a black light and go out at night, the worms will be easier to spot because the white dots will be highlighted... Don't know if it works or not, I haven't tried it yet!
Oh! I forgot, for my cherry tomatoes, I take fresh oregano, chop finely, mix with sea salt and dip the tomatoes in it, so just a little salt/oregano sticks to it, YUM! makes a wonderful appetizer! especially if you different color cherry tomatoes!
If they still gain no heat, try them sliced lengthwise, stuffed with pepper jack cheese and throw em on the grill, Yumm!! (we do this with regular jalepenos, with monterey jack cheese.)
Mmmm... Stuffed with cottage cheese, cheese and tomato sandwich, dried and used in sundried tomato turkey meatloaf (my favorite) :drool I may have to make my meatloaf next week...
