I love your chicks. I have chick fever, but my husband has been the voice of reason. We need a bigger coop/run first... and we just took on the rabbits. Apparently he can only handle so much excited at one time. :weee
I have lived in Southern Oklahoma/North Texas my entire laugh... I just don't know any different. Thank you for the prayers. I'm sure the entire area will need them. Usually it always hits towards central Oklahoma worse than it does in our part, but they have still forecasted (apparently...
We are hoping to get a hutch together this week, but we are in the midst of a very severe storm potential (yay for Spring in Oklahoma), so with the "acquisition" being so unexpected and the storms a brewin' we were just trying to get them hunkered down with whatever we had on hand. I feel bad...
Thanks thistle. We'll start saving bottles. Would milk jugs work or is that too big? We don't really get 2 liters, but I could ask around if jugs won't work.
Lol, it amazes me how subjective weather can be, just depending on where you live. Summer's here we're lucky to see 90's. We go weeks without anything under triple digits. But, anything under 50 is uninhabitable for this girl!
I read through your thread about Harvey earlier before posting mine. :) I'm glad you found a bunny friend! I've been told I need hay pretty quick since it's already in the 80's here, so I will try the cubes. I don't really keep hay around for our chickens, since I mainly use shavings. Thank you!
Saturday we were given a very unexpected gift of two rabbits by a friend. We have raised pretty much everything under the sun.... except rabbits. They are both bucks, which we were told have been together for a while and get along good. They are set up in an old chicken coop right now, but we...
Owner's manual
Lug Nut Key (what's the world coming to when you have to have a lug nut key?....)
Tire Certificates (gotta have those free fixes and rotations)
Extra napkins
The glove box is easy, but you're right, no gloves... now, my console, I don't even want to think about. :hide
It's crazy how much weather differs. With me being so far south I planted (direct seeded in the garden) sunflowers, corn, bell peppers, jalapenos, okra, squash, zucchini, bush beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and onions all on April 4th. I planted more broccoli, lettuce, sugar snap peas...
Thanks, @Smart Red. And I love your raised beds. I'm gonna have to try raised beds next year. Everyone I talk to seems to prefer them. I have one more picture.... after our rain yesterday little man decided he wasn't done mowing!
This weekend we did a lot of cleaning up. I cleaned up around the orange tree, banana tree, and blueberry bushes, then put new chicken wire and bird netting around them to lock them up like Fort Knox (my chickens are ferocious little beasts ). I direct seeded most of my garden April 3rd so...
We did think about stained concrete, simply because our house is built on concrete and it would be an "easy" (I say that loosely) transition. I haven't looked at any health related issues with the chemicals used though. We have an almost 2 year old, so at the time we were discussing he was just...
