Are we ever ready? Sleet and snow will shut the world down. The sky is falling!
Must be something wrong with the forecast. Those numbers don't look real. Check back tomorrow. Still working on the raised bed edging.
I find the wild turkey firmer with stronger flavor. Compare a wild duck to a grocery store chicken. There is a large difference. I prefer the stronger flavor.
So if the frost date says mid February, I need to start the tomato seedlings now? 5 weeks out.
Got some T posts. Now to figure a...
Very beautiful of you.
I would show Crazy Lady, but she has a soft spot for puppy breathe and I would later regret it.
One Christmas we returned from a visit to the in-laws and had an Australian Cattle dog curled up by our outside pump. In a nest. We brought her in fed and warmed. No one...
I could do that. Branches, partially putrid parrot poo, more composted wood chunks from the dump. The pile is over 6' tall so I'd need to dice it up. I feel I need to know how the water flows. I also feel I need to cut a ditch across the yard for drainage if I fill in the depression. Or...
That almost makes me want easter eggers. Too funny.
I was asked if the brown ones were just dirty white ones. I explained that the white ones were selectively breed for because people thought white meant clean. They didn't believe me. LOL
I have learned so much!
Yes, kept the whole tree. Used the trunks from the one earlier this year as the edging on a raised bed. Working great! Too deep. That was the one that heated up and cooked for 2 months. Planning on using the trunks as edging when I get it all figured out.
Hugelculture is a possibility...
Hmm. Burn pile. I lost 2 trees and one was well on its way, so had these 3 cut down. Instead of paying to haul the tops off, put them in a pile. If I had more space, just letting it sit would be great. Probably burn it in the spring. Neighbors love it when I put ash all over.
The leaves...
Great. I'll add all this to my Christmas list and watch craigslist. Just hope it is closer than a long drive. Pawn shop has a t-post driver. I'll ask the price next trip. Then we need fencing...
Appreciate the help.
What is a good deal on t posts?
Why a driver? I feel like I need one after digging post holes. My arms get flimsy & wonky. Maybe a nice cold screwdriver in the shade. Then I really would need a driver.
Lol
T post driver - any style you prefer? Looks like work.
We had a Cocka-terri-poo that played superdog on the kitchen tile. Sometimes he would drag himself across the kitchen with the hind legs splooted out behind him. What a rough life!
Your tomato trellis in interesting. I like it. Looks tornado proof.
I've been debating on digging post holes for wooden posts or springing for the t-posts. I don't like digging post holes in the gumbo. Wet gumbo sticks. Dry gumbo is solid. I keep hoping to find just the right time...
Your sister wouldn't have any extra banana pups would she? Does she get fruit? From my internet knowledge, they need a year and half to fruit. That means some kind of protection or a warm spot or a mild winter.
Very interesting plant.
Made a couple of discoveries. Acorn squash tastes...
@Zeedman was talking about Moringa seeds. Where do you recommend to get them Zeedman?
I've seen several people mention smaller seed suppliers or backyard seed share programs. Since I am starting, I'm clueless on what to look for. I was attempting to start an aquarium and did a lot of...
Where do you get Moringa from that you would recommend? Local nursery has it for more than I'd like to pay. Between the heavy clay and the salty tap water, I have no clue what to expect. The joys of living in a coastal flood plain!
Livestock, any of it, is a daily joy and chore. I planned to travel more, but that wasn't an option. So, got chickens. Things slowed down more and started a garden. New project and so many things to learn.
Will be interesting to see where (if and when) our kids settle. My siblings were...
Good evening!
How does the purple broccoli taste? Same as the green?
Yes, I've got one cabbage going whole hog. The others are pacing themselves. I planted that one on the edge of the woodchips. Hmmm. The ones in the front are in 2" wood chips and are doing well, but not that well.
If I...
Yes, I saw the bean thread and then put off starting to read since it was so long. Right now, I desire easy.
I checked the front flower bed and the tomatoes (uncovered through the last 4 days of frosts) are greening up. (?!?) These tomatoes were planted in July as 3" seedling and grew 1/2"...
Good Morning! If you give someone a hard time and they don't appreciate it, who's at fault? You for giving or them for resenting? LOL:clap
I called Grandma. Cleared things right up too. Purple hull peas, whatever kind the farm supply store has. Simple.:old The farm supply store has a...
