I’ve watch the storm warnings, it was going to sweep Texas all the way down to Houston but the wind patterns changed and lifted it to just above me. It’s been in the 20’s at night, up to 40’s daytime. The rest of the country has been getting slammed.
Stay safe and keep using your secret stash...
Coffee is ready, going for second cup.
I take water breaks even in the winter. I work outside so much, doing heavy work, i breathe through my mouth. Also called panting or gasping for air. :gig I get dry mouth and got to wet my whistle.
Thanks for the encouragement! I was raised with a “I can do anything” attitude. There isn’t much I won’t tackle, although at 69, be 70 in May, I have learned to temper that with more sensible actions. But not always…..
I don’t mind the heavy work and sometimes elect to do just that, I push it...
@ducks4you Pins are in a bucket in the shed. I don’t have them all, never did. Not going to dig lower or raise level either. There is a T post at each end of every panel, that fence ain’t going anywhere. It’s temporary, maybe a year, maybe 2 years. When I build a real barn, the hoop shelter...
I’m tired. Back, arms and shoulders are sore. I guess I’m out of shape. I built a sorta fence today from the lot where the hoop shelter is in front field to the property line fence.
I have some Red River cattle corral panels. They were at the back of the back yard so I dragged them up to the...
It would feel really weird if I actually built something by plan and drawing it out, then BUYING the materials needed, instead of laying out on the ground a pile of stuff and piecing it together like a puzzle with no directions or color picture on the box!
It’s 26F here, high of 46F and sunny today. I’ll be working outside all day.
It looks like the ice and snow storm sweeping the country is barely going to stay above me. It’s supposed to rain Thursday and Friday but Fridays low will be 35F so no frozen roads.
Y’all hunker down!
I cut dog food bags open and put them on the pallet palace. They block wind real good. I used roofing tacks with the plastic circles, the kind that you nail down tar paper under the shingles.
The sheep ought to feel real protected with that dog pack surrounding them! They haven’t tried it out...
What a lovely dinner party. I know your customers appreciate you so much!
Taking time for yourself is important. I like the winter break you are gifting yourself with and the reduced days open. You are figuring out what works best for you and your family.
You bet’cha it’s on a high spot!
It’s braces all the way around with the 1x6 boards tying them all together, laid on top, plus in the middle outside. I plan on T-posts to tie it to.
Not a single hoof print in it. 😃😃😃😃
Yesterday I finished it.
I did it!
Free pallets from a feed store.
Lumber from shed hurricane Beryl blew out
Tin from same shed.
Free.
Bought the deck screws. Keep all sizes, love those things!
Bought tube of roof pitch to fill holes of used tin.
Size is 8’x16’ on the inside. Tin is 10’...
I got rafters and lath strips up and 2 pieces of tin. Then it started to rain. I grabbed tools, jumped in the mule and raced to the gate. I opened it and goosed the mule, trying to beat the sheep that were coming off the field. Nope. They were already pouring through the gate. I waved my arms...
