Our "winter" weather seems to be gone. The extended forecast is for the low-mid forties for LOWS for the next two weeks.
After that, I just don't see the temps dropping into freezing levels in late March.
So I am thinking about going for it, and putting out most of my beans, squash, tomatoes...
If can't hurt. But some weed barriers do break down and allow plants to grow up from underneath them.
You might also consider laying down newspaper and/or cardboard on the bottom of the raised bed.
It should be thawing out here soon, I don't have high hopes for the tomatoes, but there are only 5 in the ground with back-up in the hoop-house and garage window.

my lettuce transplants have been in my raised garden beds for two weeks now and our nighttime temps are around 31-32 F. They do absolutely fine.....uncovered.
I'll have to try that recipe, thanks...

I have stuff in my hoophouse and am also curious what the nighttime temps are dropping too.
Steve, ever thought about starting a blog? Its a great way to have an ongoing dialogue on subjects such as your greenhouse.
I agree that after the sun goes down, the temperature probably goes down rather fast.

Should be good to go.
There is only one species of hummingbird that regularly frequents the east coast of the United States. It is the Ruby-throated Hummingbird.
