    youre not raining on my parade ;) I just want the truth no matter how painful lol so I guess we can eat em, at least the potatoes, the onion are the size of sets, they did grow greens, but not in size ?

    thankyou for the tip, best part they are free, we have boxes we made from cedar fencing panels (cheapest thing we could find, in cedar so it would last pretty well) we put the taters on the ground covered with some compost, and then thanks to you terrific kiddos here, we used our leaf blower...

    thanks you guys are a big help! leaves it is and layers of saw dust, wood chips from projects maybe some straw from my farmer friend (love the sweeping the barn idea) best part free

    hi new here, I have some potatoes now growing in cedar boxes I built from left over fencing I set them in a nice mix of soil and peat, and cow, but now I need to find something cheap to build up around them as the plants grow I have a lot of leaves but I dont think water would get through...
