I got my seeds WOW there is so many in there I thought the envelope would bust open THANK YOU there are so many seeds I am going to share some with my mom and a friend of mine who is 73 and can grow anything LOL
I do have one question I have never seen seeds like these - how do you get them...
well i gave all my houseplants some tea water yesterday - hope they like it and i will start saving my coffee grounds this spring and start adding them to my flowerbeds/compost pile.
does anyone know if coffee grounds keep bugs away? i have the worse grasshoppers around here - this is my first...
the first one is a white rose bush - but with a yellow rose growing on it I wish I knew the name but it was a gift from my mom, the second is a pic of some reddish pink/white impatience (sp?) the huge green plant in middle are some purple wild daisy's - this is when they were just starting out...
Thank you all for the great advice ! I guess I will brew my house plants some tea ! I told DH about using coffee grounds in the garden - he said it will smell like a coffee house outside LOL He is alittle worried about the chickens scratching around and might eat some of the grounds will it hurt...
I go through ALOT of coffee when the weather is cold - and this morning while making a pot I got to thinking there has to be something that old coffee grounds are good for-- but what??
Can you put them in the garden - use them on my house plants ?? do they keep bugs away ?? they have to be good...
I am really liking this new site I have always tried to grow nice full flowerbeds, sometimes I get lucky and the flowers grow great but sometmes...well not so good LOL

Thank you for the great advice - I think I know the perfect place to locate my compost pile I was out kinda looking around the yard today - than I got cold and had to come in LOL
I think I will make plans to start on it when I clean out the chicken coop once the weather gets warmer.

If I start the heap this spring with the old litter from the coop and yard clippings- how long will I have to wait till I can use it?
Also do they smell? and can you use dog poop in them ? I know table scraps work well but with 16 hens 1 rooster 3 ducks 4 dogs there are no such thing as table...
I want to start a compost pile- but have no idea where to start and with what - I dont want to get one of those fancy compost turners ( like you see the pros use on home and garden shows ) I just want a small compost pile that I can manage on my own and be able to use the litter from the chicken...

i went to that website nifty it was great I found tons of plants/flowers that grow in my area that is going to make planning my flower beds so much easier - no more guessing about what will grow and what wont.

i dont do any planting in fall or winter ...yet I use winter to plan where I am going to start my plantings for early spring
, this winter I will be real busy planning the new flowerbeds ( since I am in a new house that is totally without any grass or gardens )

how big do they get? I have never tried growing them.
do they need a trellis ? are they hardy plants we get lots of heat and sun.
