Does anybody have experience growing bamboo? I like its properties as a screen, but I'm afraid it would soon overgrow my yard and take over the surrounding cornfields. What sort of cold hardy bamboo would be best?

I recently moved into a home with a nice strawberry patch. It produced several pounds of delicious berries this spring. However, there is a bit of a weed problem. Certain areas are heavy with grass, and there is thistle throughout. I've pulled what I could without upsetting the berries too...
