Also, has anybody ever planted gala apple seeds? I know they wont be gala apples, but does anybody know what kind of apple it may produce? Should I post a seperate thread?
When I started them (months ago) I knew that if I got them to sprout, they wouldnt produce for very long. These rose bush clippings, if I can get them to grow, are for my grandma. I want to give them to her as an early Christmas present.
Well, they all died. But, I'm trying again with something a little different. I clipped 5 stems off of my rose bushes. Three from a pretty one and 2 from a not so pretty one. I also planted 3 Apple seeds from a store bought gala apple (for fun). I am trying multiple methods for the clippings...
Thats what I usually do. I just didn't think anything would want to sprout with the temperatures (plus I dont have the time to constantly water) and I wanted to try something new.
Do you recommend a certain brand? We just got some cheap seed starter soil. All of my okra died. I'm not starting any more seeds. I'll just wait until next spring.
Here are my cucumbers. Theyre doing ok other then the one that fell over.
Here are my okra. They are dying like everything else did.
And my squash. They haven't grown in a few days. Nothing has.
Our temperatures stay pretty warm until about November. So when these plants begin producing, they should be in Ideal temperatures. Not burning hot, and not freezing.
I have Yellow Crookneck Squash, Pattypan Squash, Spaghetti Squash, Clemson Spineless Okra, straight eight Cucumbers, Pumpkins, Early Girl Tomatoes, and Tommy Toe Tomatoes. I still have 4 Yellow Crookneck Squash Sprouts, 6 Okra Sprouts, and 4 Cucumber sprouts. Typically, I would plant all those...
That would be too late wouldn't it? Too cold? Right now it is way too hot. I couldn't keep the soil moist enough for seeds to grow. What could I plant that late?
All of my original sprouts have died. The cucumbers, Crookneck Squash, and okra that I planted later still look good. I am going to replant the spaghetti squash and 1 pumpkin.
