Why remind me?
Because of the yard redo after getting the geo-heating, my dahlias never got planted. In fact, until I was reminded (above) I had totally forgotten they are still in the basement corner. Sigh!

This is the only one from the clearance that is doing great. The others have very weak growth maybe 1 flower, I am hoping better things are happening underground for when I dig them up in fall.

You are probably right.
Dig 'em up , over winter, and plant next spring. I bet you will be rewarded for your efforts.

I got some truly glorious dahlias at a flower shop in Chinatown for about $1.25 ($5 per fourpack) no where near as big, and they are single flowered (as opposed to doubled like NYboy's seem to be) but absolutely stunning color contrasts (I've never seen dark purple/white before)
