I got up early this morning and was out in the garden before 7:00 am trying to get ahead of the weeds. We have had a ton of rain and I haven't been able to get out there much. Worked for a couple of hours, took a break planning to get some breakfast. Now it's raining, can't go back out today.

No one is online because everyone is out in the garden. How discouraging.

I did get 5 rows of tomatoes, 2 rows of peppers, 2 rows of kohlrabies, 4 rows of corn, 4 rows of beans and a row of lettuce under control from the weeds. Still need to do 4 rows of corn and the onions (which are never done).

Think I'll take a nap.

Yep...that time of year. Everybody's either trying to catch up or stay ahead. Just what we all were wishing for...just a few short weeks ago.
The raised beds, I have, have really made staying ahead a lot easier. For the last several days, I've been "hand processing" my huge, pretty much, finished compost pile. When I get done, this compost will "rest" until fall.
We've been getting showers, just about, every afternoon this week. Just got another one.....and we sure have needed it.
Am afraid that one of my mater plants has blight. Gotta do a little more research before yankin it out. Everything is, either, blooming like crazy or bearing "fruit".

Yeah, I know how it is. We are under flood warnings today so gardening is out. I may go out and work on my raised bed this evening if it dries up a little.

I'm inside until the sun goes down some. It's too hot out for me right now.

It's finally cooled off a bit here 70-80 but crazy muggy. That's why I went out so early this morning, but I wasn't expecting this much rain.

We've got a little more rain coming, but they promise things will cool down a little and dry off after this. Such weirdo weather this year, although I did take advantage of the extended cool spring and got more use out of my greens and salad patch.

I *should* have been out working in the garden and catching up on things with my flowerbed today, but my DH took me out shopping and to dinner for our anniversary. We needed a little time out by ourselves. It was hard to pull me out of the garden, but I am glad I went. :)

Yeah, my intentions of working in the garden when the sun was down a bit didn't make it to fruition. I forgot I had to go milk the cow down at the farm and when I got home it was time for dinner and then it was dark. Maybe tomorrow...?

We have been drenched on and off for a couple of weeks... it finally clears up and its like 90+ out feeling like 100!!! :idunno

I have managed to do some garden work, lots of things I was falling behind on... but I am caught up on weeding. I mowed until I couldn't see last night, and will do it again tonight. (Its too darn hot during the day so I'm going to hold off until after dinner.) :mow

Its so hot my AMAZING amount of container plants get dried out fast, so every morning I spend 30 minutes just watering all the pots. :watering I forget how unforgiving the summer heat in the south can be. :sick

Back to the garden to get more squash though... I'm surprised that plant hasn't choked itself out yet! LOL

:coolsun :coolsun :coolsun :coolsun :coolsun :coolsun :coolsun

Happy summer ya'll!!!
