I received this info from another garden site and found it interesting and useful. I thought you might as well. It relates a number of things you can do with apples.

Good list! Quite a few on there I have tried. We like to dehydrate apples in little pieces to use in our oatmeal. One year I had a bumper crop from my 2 apple trees (now gone, due to fireblight), Red Delicious and the other unknown. I juiced them skins and all and made ACV. You don't have to buy any starter cultures. The good bacteria and wild yeasts are already on the peels; be sure to use organic apples though. Oh, I'm so looking forward to canning up some more apple pie filling here soon. You can buy cook-type Clear-Jel and your spices and save a lot of money instead of buying those Mrs. Wage's packages. I like the texture better too.

I had one Bonnie Best apple left on my young tree this year, out of maybe 20 to start with. First time the tree had borne fruit. I checked on it the other day and it was still not quite ripe, but a hornet was boring a big hole in the side. We went ahead and picked it, but it was too tart to really appreciate the flavor. I was so bummed out! :somad It's supposed to be a really good, tart, pie apple.

That's a good list. In laws have 4 trees and rarely pick them so we get baskets full whenever we go. Always appreciate new ideas to try.
