$3,300 Surprise In Mail

Oxford stopped insuring me Jan 1. In todays mail was a check and letter saying I had a premium overpayment. I am going shopping tonight. Nice surprise I almost threw out thinking junk mail

I am a Staples junkie. I am an office manager and I need supplies for my home office, too, so I do all of the rebates, use every coupon possible and check their email ads all of the time. So, I changed purses last January and moved this Staples coupon card (plastic, like a credit card) to my new purse. Recently they started to stamp their rebate cards with the dollar amounts, but this one didn't have that. I ALMOST threw it away bc I tend to keep things like that after they are empty.
Anyway, last month I was buying supplies at Staples and I used up two of the newer rebate cards. I pulled out this old one bc there was like $14.00 left to pay. I Thought that maybe there was about $3.00 on the old card. The clerk hands me the receipt and the card and tells me that I still have $101.00 on this (old) card! Then, the clerk asked me if I wanted to do more shopping. HECK, yeah!
I never did like my office chair, and chairs were on sale. I ended up buying a new, leather chair originally $170.00 for $4.00 + some change.

Love it!! It holds up to 250 pounds, which I am not, so it should last awhile.

i just got a surprise check in the mail, as well. oh, man is there anything better than getting a little windfall you weren't expecting? mine's not nearly as big as yours, but i'll bet it spends exactly the same...

The only surprise checks I've received are for something like .32 cents. Why did they waste a stamp mailing it to me?

I bet car or major appliance breaks down, seems to always happen when have extra money

you should see it from the other side: if the car or stove broke first, you'd be much happier with that check.
