50% Off Trees

When My local home center did 50% off trees I went a little crazy. I want to plant the trees at a home I have in upstate NY. This is a home I only use a few days a month. It's getting cold there, how late into fall can I plant trees? If the ground freezes can I still plant them?

You can't plant them when the ground is frozen. In upstate NY, right now is a perfect time to plant. Next week they are calling for 50 degrees highs during the day- which is about as good as it gets. If you've got the trees now, plant them!!

Port Chester NY but they didn't last long. Paid kid across street to dig holes, spent day planting trees. Going to sleep good tonight

Excellent! Good for you finding a strong back to do the digging! I love gardening, but man, I hate digging holes!
