UPDATE:
Salsa Party VI: The Two Towers was terrific! We had clear skies, warm but not hot, and a beautiful evening. Everybody loved their kazoos and we serenaded the witch to her fiery end. Regarding the beans...we soaked them in tomatoes that I ran through the blender and then put in a crock pot to soak overnight. The next morning it looked like beans poking through red cornbread! :th I added water and cooked them for 3 hours before DH started his chili. DesPITE the beans being a little chewy everybody loved the chili (as usual), and we're gonna do it this way again, but maybe soak them for 2 days ahead of time. Thanks for your help! :hugs
