Short showers here, Nyboy, 'cuz of being cheap -- scratch that -- I mean 'cuz of being frugal and green. Yes, a shower is a perfect reward for working in the garden. Of course, being retired, working all day means plenty of breaks for a cool drink and a swing in the shade, but in between the breaks we do work.

'Sides, the shower is needed to get rid of all the mosquito repellant we're spraying this year. Whew! Those buggers are really bad this year and, regardless of the time of day, there's no getting past the mosquitoes without a goodly dose of OFF.

Right now I'd love to be out baling, but my new tractor requires a "break in" oil change after five hours and I'm running to seven already. No more use until the oil is changed. Then I'm facing another 5+ days of rain, rain, and rain. Perhaps DH will consider a side trip to Farm and Fleet for a new oil filter yet today?

I remember as a young person thinking I could have a job where showers were in the morning.

I suppose I also thought that exercise and sweating would only be at the gym ... I don't know. Can't think of a private gym in the little cities where I lived as a kid.

Wearing a suit was something I imagined. The one office job I had, the boss had to tell me that I looked like I was going to appear in court when I showed up for work. How many of your bosses have suggested more casual daily attire? That was a state job and neither of us lasted very long. He soon set up his little private enterprise and had that state contract. I inadvertently played a role in helping the jerk get that ...

Anyway, it's great to slide in between the sheets - clean :). I like ginger ale in mixed drinks but even a Shirley Temple would be okay by me :).

Second the mosquitos, but I use a spray meant for dogs that keeps absolutely everything off. Its just clove oil, and a couple other oils, but I go from 50+ bites to 0 when I use it. <3 Love that stuff.
@AMKuska please let use know the name of the spray you are using. I do not like Off, deep woods, cutter etc... The small and the feel leave me feeling nauseas. AND the bugs, especially the mosquitos LOVE me. :(

Red it sound like we will be having very similar weather again! Today is warm, sunny and sticky. Tomorrow will be worse. UGH. But then Thunderstorms/rain are in the forecast on and off all week. :(

What is better then a long shower after working all day in garden ? Maybe iced pitcher of long island ice tea. Love that clean refreshed feeling from long shower.
Make my tea STRAIGHT UP, no sugar, no spirits. A slice of lemon and lots of ice is nice. ;)

It's called "Vet's Best Flea and Tick Spray"

I love it because I hate the feel of "OFF" but hate the feel of 1 million bug bites even more. I mist myself from head to toe with it, including scalp but not eyes, as the bugs WILL go for what ever bit of you you left unsprayed. I love it, it smells strong but not bad, and it doesn't leave that residue.
