Almost Had Another Fire

I have a small electric heater for waitingroom, kind that looks like old fashion raditater suppose to be very safe. I come in today to a cold room, light on heater was off. I figured someone turned off yesterday and forgot. When I saw switch was in on postion I checked plug to outlet. When I jiggled plug outlet started making noise, I pulled plug out of outlet both plug and outlet are now black. Heater in garbage, glad didnt happen at night. Last fire was Thanksgiving Day electric stove caught fire.

Not that it happened, of course, but lucky you found the problem before any damage was done to other than your pocket book. I'm assuming you will need an electrician?

Electrician just changed outlet ,worth every penny.

Yikes! So are we assuming the outlet was bad, or the heater was bad?

Both heater in dumpster new outlet put in taking no chances with fire

That's the first thing my BIL does when he buys a house, replaces all the outlets. We hadn't, but probably should. We have 3 generations of wiring in this old house. Gives me nightmares. Need to get an electrician in here to at least update the breaker box.
