Well big to hubby and I anyways... we managed to get 15 lbs of grapes today off our 1 producing vine. (Other vine is too young still.)

He's over the moon proud!!!

Oh vfem those grapes look good! Congrats to you! :D
What variety is that by any chance?, looks like a white grape variety. My cousin from NC came to visit this weekend and said he already has lots of grapes already, he's going to make wine from his harvest. I bet all that heat down south really helps to ripen the grapes and other fruits quickly.

Enjoy!!

I do believe these are wine grapes, maybe a zin type. They have thicker skin like concord and a few seeds... but are very sweet and juicy. This was the vine given to us by our neighbor spring of 2010. So it did us good but wouldn't produce where he had them growing. Maybe next year, we'll make wine and see! :D

I am longing for grapes... Next years project! Did the Japanese Beetles go crazy for your vines? I can't keep them off the wild grapes here. Enjoy your beautiful harvest!

Amazingly no japanese beetles this year?! We had some June bugs, but they only bothers my hibiscus & raspberries, I was quite shocked!? We had enough other issues to deal with, so one less pest was welcome.

I do hope you get some grapes of your own, I'm so very excited at the thought of wine making. :D

Nice haul, Vfem! I have several producing vines, but didn't get much this year because of last year's drought. I'll bet that jelly will be awesome!

Making wine is very fun I must say, one year I actually crushed the grapes with my bare feet, of course I washed my feet so they were very clean first. My feet were a little purple for a bit after  . I made wine from my harvest of grapes last year (crushed the grapes by hand). I don't think I'll have enough grapes this year for making wine, but will definitely enjoy them soon!

Here's some pictures of last years grape harvest:

That entire basket of grapes made a gallon of wine perfectly!
