Another Family Ornament

The stable boy jocko lit the walkway to my Aunts front door. They where made with black faces, my Aunt always wanted the original face, but was to worried the neighbors

would think she was racist.

For anyone who doesn't know the story of Jocko, he was a slave boy , who froze to death watching washingtons horses when they cross the Delaware river. Story is Washington found him frozen still holding lamp, rather then abanden his post. A statue was made in his honor legend has it years later was use to single safehouses for under ground railroad.

Isn't it something... these days anything we do or say, some group becomes riled up and offended about it. Yesterday, a shoe company offered to pay to redo the logos of high schools that had any Indian related sports logos because it seams that indians are somehow offended.
