Another Song That Gives Me Goosebumps

Don't you just love it when a TV commercial song is so good it makes you cry or gives you goosebumps? The latest one for me is the holiday Glade ad. The song is called "This is My Wish" and it is sung by Adam Brock. It is well worth finding and playing.

Effective advertising. I love that version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" too, since Bay introduced us to it.

My roommate in college was a big Leonard Cohen fan. Her taste in music must have been a lot more cultured than mine, as I was a disillusioned child of the grunge era.

"Hallelujah" is a beautiful and haunting melody and the lyrics are so poetic. Countless, so many different covers of this song. Funny how many people on YouTube seem to think it is a religious song. When you pay attention to the lyrics you find it is simply about a romantic relationship gone cold. It doesn't go beyond merely an allusion to King David and Samson. Inaccurate really, as Bathsheba didn't deliberately seduce David...he was the one in the wrong, coveting another man's wife. There is a cover by a band called Cloverton out there that rewrites the lyrics to make for a really pretty Christmas song though.
