I used to see it advertised in trade magazines quite a bit. I think I even had a sample at one time but apparently if I used it, I wasn't impressed enough to remember it. However, don't let this stop you from trying it. You could use it on one of each of your plants, so you would have some good controls, to check results. And be sure and let us know! :p

The very serious horticultural contrarian, Linda Chalker-Scott, had something to say about the product just a few months before the inventor's passing: Thieves purr (SUPERthrive) link

Honestly, I didn't think to look to see if she had written anything on the product but was prompted to by the incorrect "P.H.D" after the inventor's name. That isn't an abbreviation for "philosophiae doctor." Perhaps, Dr. Chalker-Scott has given us something of an explanation on the degree claimed.

Furthermore , the Thompsons in my family spell their name with a "p" . . !

Steve ;)

i've recently seen the ads for that junk. i was wondering if it really was a sham like the ads made it out to be. they remind me of some of the old ads in comic books for things you'd spend 2 cents and another 10 cents to have shipped to you! :p like those wacky x-ray glasses

I know more than one nurseryman who stands behind it. I have used it a time or two based on their testimonial, but really have no opinion on it's worth. I would say that if it is beneficial it's not spectacularly beneficial.

I too have a PHD by the way. It's in the shed next to the other implements. :)

I thought it was Post hole Digger...but I'm sure I could also pile it high and deep. :D
Most P.H.D.'s I've met would not understand the simplicity of a post hole, much less be able to actually dig one.
