I am trying to do large planters in driveway in perennials. I wanted a vine and was thinking vinca (periwinkle) Last night i picked up 2 small vines labeled Asian Jasmine (Trachelospermum asiaticum) zones 1 to 4. The label says nothing about flowers, I am assuming they have flowers and they are fragrant based on the fact jasmine in their name. Am I wrong?

Yes, Asian, or Star Jasmine, has white flowers. Like most of the Jasmine I have seen the flowers are rather small, but heavenly fragrant. You are not wrong.

I think it would grow to heavy and long for planters Nyboy. Ours is by the side of the house and my husband has to be constantly trimming it. I think vinca minor would do better.

We keep ours trimmed at about 6'. Just remember that it will grow on your lawn. I guess it would work since it would get trimmed when you mow the lawn.

@Nyboy I think your winters may very well keep it in check (if it survives.) Jasmine seems pretty tropical to me. Hope I am wrong. It sure would look great trailing from the tall urns.
