I was watching USA the other night, and I almost flipped out right there on the couch.

There was an industrial RoundUp commerical right there! Showing farmers who grew Corn, Soy beans and cotton going on and on and on about how GREAT roundup is to the industry. Then Monsanto puts up there EXTRA special pricing of only $3 an acre!!!!

:he

I will eventually find the commercial online and post it....

:sick

Living in wheat and cotton country, we've been inundated with the ad for a couple of months now. To answer seedcorn's ?, the thing that bothers me about $3/acre herbicide, is why does it cost so dang much in small sizes? Are plastic bottles REALLY that expensive?
Don't use it in the garden, but it comes in handy around the rest of the place.

marketing, packaging, middle men, liabilities, retailers, consumer wants convience, because they can, I could go on but.............

Go to any ag retailer, you can buy 1-2.5 gal container that you mix w/water to make enough to last you a life time. Need to buy a safener as well to blend into mix. Safener ties up the metals in the water so the glysophate is not tied up and made worthless. Your price around $20/gallon which will do 5 acres worth. Farmers buy generic glysophate for about $9/gallon. They buy 30-250 gallons per container.

I'm sorry. I'll try to get with the program. Help me see the light.......

Just back from 3 day Ag show. #1 problem is huge food shortage in India, china, etc. Now that they've got most of our jobs, the people are getting ready to riot because they don't have ANY food. So governments are over here buying wheat, corn, soybeans. Think prices are high now, wait till June/July.
