Seeds where 75% off, not able to pass up a great sale, I picked some up. 2 of the packets are for sproutng, which i never done. What I am wondering about, the buckwheat says to rinse at least 2x a day why.

Keeps them fresh, NyBoy.

You don't want molds and other harmful pathogens getting started in there. A change of water will help. I don't know what your container amounts to. Try not to leave any puddles in there, either. Just nicely wet seeds and sprouts.

Dang it. Last year, I was gonna try growing mung beans in the garden. I still don't know what the plants look like. Oh, I've grown the sprouts but the last time, they were weak, puny things. I blamed the seed viability and the thought occurred to me, "why not just grow your own seed?!"

Alfalfa sprouts used to be my signature winter
crop. I wasn't much of a stir-fry guy back then but had discovered cream cheese and sprouts, with just about anything, in a sandwich.

sprouted mung beans with my mom many years ago. haven't done it since but i have a big bag of them on hand it i wanted to try it again. thought the viability is probably slim to none.

like digitS' states, to keep the mold/bacteria form taking hold. and to help keep them hydrated to sprout.
