Anyone tried Lettuce under Grow Light

Showed my wife some of the comments about heat and lettuce getting bitter. She has decided to try raising some in a spare bedroom under a grow light. Has anyone here ever tried something like this? I can't see any reason it shouldn't work.

Why am I not surprised at this topic? After blowing up your dreams of a luscious lettuce and tomato salad, your DW comes up with Plan B. Brilliant lady. I say go for it.

I have some red iceberg under fluorescent shop lights right now, but they are tiny seedlings and I will transplant them to the garden soon. Then I will hope and pray they make before the heat cooks them.

Try the grow lights, take pictures, post them and tell us all about it.

Jackb has grown all kinds of greens, including lettuce, hydroponically under lights. I think you'll have great success!! You can look for some of jackb's posts by using the search button, maybe you'll find some tips to help out.
