Today I finished an apron for my grand daughter Jodi, age three!!
I think it turned out cute, I want to make one for myself out of this fabric.

Here are some photos of it.

I think the design will make it good for use in both the kitchen and the garden.
It has SEVEN pockets!
One can't have too many pockets when they are three!
Here is a close up of six of the seven pockets. I used daisy buttons for decoration.

Here is a close up of the bib area with a "J" on the small top pocket.

Here is a photo of the gifts that went inside the large pockets.

Flower seeds, from my own garden in special personalized packages, a cute little garden set, with gloves, row markers, and the package is designed to be a "seedling starter". And then a couple of cookie cutters.

Then last but not least is the special tag, which took longer for me to make than the apron!

I hope she will like it.

Here she is in her apron,

Her mom said she was wanting to go out and plant the seeds today,
it is 28 and snowing there!

I am sure she will love it!! It turned out adorable! The tag is the best part. Did you hand embroidery that?? She will surely be able to collect eggs in that apron!

How pretty! I love daisies. They are so cheerful!

Can I adopt you as a grandma? :D

Yep, it is all my "handiwork" there. The tag is counted cross stitch on a very small weave fabric (22 squares per inch). I had to use my magnifying light to do the stitchng! Then there is the process of finding just the right little graphic, and what typeface to use and how big, and charting it out on graph paper. That is why the tag takes longer to make than doing all the cutting out and sewing on the apron!

But, I LOVE doing counted cross stitch.

That is so cute! I'm going to have to make myself an apron, I'm such a messy cook. It would be nice to use one for milking/feeding/egg gathering/garden watering time also, seems I always come in covered in an assortment of stuff from that.

I like counted cross stitch too. I've never done one that tiny though!

I put it in the original post, but then realized it will not put the post at the top of the recent posts unless I put it in a new post!!
