Are Ants A problem?

It seems ants have taken up residence in my bags/pots. While inconvenient, I would like to know are they an actual problem, would they threaten the health of my tomatoes or potatoes? If so how do I get rid of them without harming my plants?

Yes, it is a problem. You can use the insecticide in jell form and if you are using this it will not spread and so you can save your plants.
