I have some muskmelon plants that I need to transplant (so they have room to spread out), but I'm concerned that deer will eat them. I don't have time to put up a fence around the plants right now, so I was wondering if deer typically eat Muskmelon plants?

I've had them eat anything - plastic fencing, poisonous tomato leaves, if it gets dry and native vegetation is not sufficient for them. Your garden is an all you can eat buffet. If an electric fence or REALLY tall fence is too much work you can try some of the deer repellant sprays, whirligigs, predator lights, dog. I used Sweeney's deer repellent cylinders on sticks (Lowe's) that are supposed to last all season last yr. and this yr. No attacks, but lots of rain so far so that helps. If drought sets in beef up your protection.
