well I found out cherry tomatoes are an option and will try them

I am going to watch her and see if anyone else has ideas

I grow a lot of tender herbs in the house parsley cilantro mint even grow in the window sill or under a grow light

I am sure you could do some baby greens

if all else fails

sprout things there is a thread about how to keep them sanitary somewhere ...

It depends how much light you want to give them. If you want to spend nontrivial amounts of money on it, you can grow tomatoes and peppers and so forth (hand-pollinate them). For a lesser but nonzero investment, lettuce. For a windowsill with no added lighting, not really anything IME.
