When I wanted to become a biologist. Perhaps in another life.
Perhaps, this is Quorum sensing. The collection of individuals transformed into an organized team. Collective Intelligence. Group behavior is usually based on the kind of chemical "vote." For example, all the bacteria in the population of produce signal substance. When the concentration of the substance in the environment reaches a large value, all of the cells together to change their behavior.
In fungi also. The mycelium is composed of thin filaments (hyphae). Each "filament" receives chemical signals that she should do. The amount signals- decision. Intelligence fungus in its network. Man is more interesting, I think. He can travel alone. It may use all.

Man can travel alone, man is composed of a group of cells that receive that communicative information/instruction as to what to do.

I raised mushoom and was intrigued by the thought of the communication { synapse} it seems to me~as in the human body.
