While my neighbor is in Switerland for three weeks, I am dog sitting, and getting to daily take the dog to her garden to play.
There is a huge artichoke bush there. it is over 5 feet tall!

Wow, that is such a cool looking plant! Can you imagine the first person that said "hey, lets eat one of those!"

Her husband came over yesterday afternoon with two artichokes, says he can't eat them all. She told me to pick anything I want since the lettuce and other cool weather crops are going to be going to seed very soon. It was 89 here yesterday. A few days in the 90's and all our cool weather crops will be disappearing.

I hope you don't expect us to feel sorry for you, rebbetzin!! Enjoy the artichokes- I bet they are real treat right out of the garden!

Yes, enjoy those artichokes rebbetzin! :D
I bet they'll taste great fresh from the garden. You could even keep some in oil and vinegar as marinated artichoke hearts like they have in jars.
You should let one artichoke go to flower their pretty with their purplish-bluish blooms.
