who else is waiting for the first sprouts? Just went to refrig and my wife bought some. In about 3 weeks we'll have it running out of our ears.............why she didn't wait. I hate store bought vegetables that we grow ourselves.

1) it takes the luster off of my own.
2) They are always aged and never as good as out of the garden.

At least she won't buy rhubarb........city girl

I'm waiting, it should be soon. I'm unhappy to see I seem to have lost a rhubarb, still have one that I planted. Maybe something will still sprout there, but it doesn't look good.

I love fresh asparagus, some of the spears don't even make it into the house, they are delicious snapped right off and eaten in the garden! :)

Trying to be patient. I put in green two years ago, purple & more green last year. And a few of last year's ferns got berries on them, so in time I will have a friggin' forest of asparagus in my backyard.

Can I try to not make you feel bad? I have a bag with enough in my freezer finally for our supper tonight. Every day it has been 1-2 stalks ready to cut & I have just been washing them & puttig them in the freezer after they dry off. So tonight we get the first of the last 2 yrs fruit of my labors. I have 6 rhubarb plants, 2 I planted this past fall & 4 more this spring. All are doing well, the ones i planted in the fall I can harvest from this yr, this yrs plantings I need to wait another yr(at least the tag said so).
