I started a new asparugus bed this summer from small seedlings, from mother asparugus bed. They are about a foot tall now and started to come under attack with asparugus beetle larva.Does anyone have a recipe for a easy to make homemade spray to rid my new plants of the pest...? Maybe a soap type spray, or garlic and veggie oil...? Any advise would be much appreciated...thanks

No experience with those pests but if they are still in the larval stage, I bet a dishsoap spray will kill them.

For aphids, I use Palmolive Green, 3 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water. Spray in the late afternoon so that sunlight doesn't burn the plants. The next morning, I show up to rinse the plants.

This year, I'm trying 5 tablespoons of PG per gallon and returning within an hour to rinse the plants. My target is the red spider mite.
