Don't you think people are getting weirder, in general? So many cranky, short tempered folks, getting violent over almost nothing. We all just need to do yoga or meditate simultaneously, and chill out a little.

in general i think there are just more people so more chances of odd or whatever behaviors.

I think social media has a lot to do with it, cowardly people can say things that they wouldn't say to a person's face and get away with it, and eventually becomes the norm in their everyday life.
There's so much anger out there, these same people think of no-one but themselves. How many times do you see simple courtesies, like opening a door for someone, say lovely day isn't it.
My hubby 81, was coming out of the grocery store the other day, saw an elderly woman with a walker trying to get it and her groceries in the trunk of her car, she was really struggling. Several people gave her a look but just kept on walking by ignoring her until my hubby went over to assist her.
Today it's all about self gratification, nothing else matters. It really is becoming a sad, sad, world. Good manners don't cost a thing and it might even make you feel good knowing you have helped someone out.

There is no excuse for bad manners, I always try to hold the door even for people younger than me. we also try to let elderly, disabled, or veterans go before us in the grocery line unless we are just getting a few items. A lot of the younger folks have forgotten the simple pleasantries that used to be required when we were younger. It does seem like the country has lost its mind lately, sad that hate is accepted in the public square. Danger danger..

I had a load of debris in my truck that I was unloading at the transfer station last week.
I line my truck bed with a tarp and then pull the tarp out to unload, simple and, usually, quick. Especially if one of my boys are working with me, but it's mostly just me alone.

I was tugging at the tarp trying to get a little momentum going to unload it and a young guy from two trucks away took pity on me and came over to help. I could have done it fine alone but was very appreciative of his extra muscle.
So it's not all hopeless. There are still a lot of young people with a heart out there.

I try not to be surprised by it all, as we had knowledge beforehand that it would happen in these days....

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

...but I'm still often shocked at how many people are so uncaring for their fellow man or woman. It's expressed in how they drive, how they don't help when they see someone needing help, how men no longer rever a woman and want to assist her with heavy things, how disrespectful children are to elders and also how no one fears God anymore, but openly and constantly mocks and scorns Him.

I guess it's just natural to mourn all these things we see are happening.

it's not as bad as it could be. in some places they have no respect for even life itself. so... we've not hit bottom yet. this is getting too close to politics for me. so i'll sign off this thread and thank you all for your care. :)
