Will Ladybugs attack bean leaf beetles? We are having some issues with aphids, but not a HUGE infestation. We want to try and get rid of these stupid beetles! Also... do ladybugs like flowers or anything like that? What all do we need for Ladybugs other than aphids?

Ladybugs eat soft bodied insects- so I doubt they would eat those beetles...Are you having any luck hand picking?
I think the best thing for attracting beneficial bugs is to plant a large variety of flowers, herbs and veggies. I figure if I plant enough different things I'm bound to have the right thing. Once the aphids are gone -the ladybugs will fly to the next source.

We have been hand picking every day... but it just seems like they're STILL there! What about Praying Mantis? Will THEY eat the BLB?

The problem with mantids is that they have a voracious appetite and they eat everything, ladybugs, lacewings, you name it. So any other beneficials you have in the garden would also be on their menu.
I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with bean beetles so I'm sorry
I'm not a lot of help there. Keep up the hand picking, that will soon have a huge impact on their population. :)

I found some of them on my cukes this morning. Problem is... there's a wildfire about 35 miles from us so our air quality is in a code purple... apparently that is really super terrible. I believe it as well. There is ash falling from the sky. PLUS! It's super duper hot. We can't go pick bugs today. :( We went to a family fun event this morning and now I have a terrible headache from the heat and poor air quality.

I haven't seen ANY good bugs in our garden... at all! The only things I've seen in there are grubs and bean leaf beetles! It's driving me CRAZY!

Just looked up this beetle. Its not found out west. Just East and upper mid west.

The praying mantis are frequent here, but our bat population keeps them in check. Yes, little legs found every day amongst the bat poo.
