I notice that the first toyon berries are starting to turn red. They will stay red now throughout the holiday season. Toyon is one of our native plants and provides food and shelter for a lot of wildlife.
It's looking a lot like Christmas in Montana, with 4" of snow on the ground this morning! :/ it is pretty, but i'm not excited to have it sticking here in the valley quite this early...gonna be a long one!
I've been trying to put more plants for the birds into my landscaping this year. I bought a "blueberry muffin" viburnum that is really pretty. I can't wait until it gets big.
Our 2" of snow yesterday, just remained in the shade and on the roofs this morning.
Now at noon - I'd have a hard time filling a shovel out of my yard! Yet, not a drop of sun today.
DW said we should bake a pumpkin and then see what we can do with it :coolsun. As long as she will make the crust, I've got what it takes for the filling .
THEY are calling for a few widely scattered flurries being possible before tonight. I am NOT looking forward to seeing them. It won't be Christmas season until my "Witch Hazel" has bloomed.
I have no idea what the stores have for Christmas yet. Most of my gifts are of the green type.
I know, it's crazy. They just milk it for all it's worth. Have you noticed that they take forever to mark down the leftovers now too? Clearance shopping is not as fun as it used to be...
aaaww, don't you know you have 364 days of shopping for stuff you probably don't need or won't use beyond the 1st time (if you ever use it ). 365 days if you count you can shop online too!
