a question for my fellow evil southerners who grow tomatoes have any of you ever grew phoenix tomatoes
or know anyone who has grown them. looking to grow some next year...
the g/m at work went down to a small farm along the coast where this time of the year they let you go into the fields and pick tomatoes. those where some of the best tasting slicing tomatoes we have ever tasted.

dw wants to add them to the plum tomatoes while making stewed and sauce next year....

Never tried them. My suggestion is to try them.

They look pretty, I like that smooth round shape. They are determinate and a hybrid. I was going to suggest you save some seeds but I guess not.

I like to try a new (to me) variety every year. But I stay with open pollinated, so I can save seeds.

These look like nice tomatoes, try them and see how it goes.

last night had insomnia <again> of course not a thing on tv on watch, tomatoes were on the brain :hu so got up and turn the coffee on fired up the puter and got online :caf and started researching tomatoes at totally tomato and tomato growers supply. dang between the two they sure have a great selection of seeds that you dont see on many seed catalogs. from short to late season/ determinate to indeterminate/heirloom to hybrid.. whats best in the south to yankeeville.

beside the phoenix found 7 others breed to deal with high temperatures, high humidity and disease resistance, perfect for where we are living. looks like we will be doing a lot more experimenting next season than planned..
