I live in a national forest. A big player company has a hundred year lease here. An association rents from them and 80 camps comprise the association. This association has a board. The board has a president. The big player company has a land representative. She has a supervisor, and he has a department chief.

They are inspecting a lot of their holdings, and one of the many things they are inspecting is my garden!

My garden has to pass inspection!

It is almost pure organic. I do use Osmocote, but that does not kill my worms. I use ZERO poisons. No weed killers. At very worst, I lightly spray any rare encroaching poison oak with Clorox. Small sprays.

Every couple years the EPA hires a contractor to test for heavy metals. That is why I can't use metal fencing stakes, and my chicken wire can only have incidental contact with the ground.

Good luck with the inspection! What happens if you fail? Just curious.. I suppose they could cite you or something?

Wellp, actually they just looked at my garden and admired it, then they went down to the lake for a picnic!!!

We mostly just talked about some of the roads and trails I've never been on or that they never have been on.

The big Cheese guy has never been here before and loves this place.

They could see that the chicken wire only barely touches the ground at a couple places, the netting under comes up to it and is stitched on.

It all went well. Now if I could turn the entire basin into a botanical reserve...there i go dreaming again...
