We have some wild blackberries growing quite prolifically in one of our side yards and tonight, my DD and I went out and picked some. We ended up only getting a little over a pint (more are ripening) and I was wondering how long they would keep before they aren't fit to eat.

My DH loves blackberry cobbler and I would like to make it for him - but it's going to be a while before I have enough to make it. (We have many new canes growing that will produce a bigger crop next year)

Any ideas on how long they'll keep?

Also, how do I store them?

Thanks for all suggestions!!!

You can toss them right in the freezer. Surely, by the end of the season- you will have enough for one cobbler! If you don't want them to freeze in a blob- freeze them on a cookies sheet, first. Happy baking!
