The raised beds are completed, and yesterday I spent the day with my wheelbarrel mixing what I hope is the perfect blend of compost, peat, and vermiculite.

Then this afternoon it started raining ( a big deal in the desert-it rarely rains for more than 15minutes). Hours later, it is still coming down. I have raised the tops, and all that beautiful soil is getting a nice soak from the heavens. Tomarrow I can finally move my poor seedlings into their scrumptous new home.

Well, the garden is planted! I have 3 raised square bed gardens (each has 9 square foot sections) and have planted squash, two kinds of cucumbers, snap peas, 8 kinds of tomatoes, eggplants, cauliflower, beets, spinach, lettuce and herbs. We are going to need one more raised bed in order to get the rest of my veggies grown (I am so strung out on tomatoes-they have definitely taken up the lions share of my SFG!)

The seedlings' poor little roots were growing out of the bottom of their little peat pots. I swear I heard them sigh with relief when I put them in their new beds.

I love gardening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woot :love :weight :celebrate
