Another resounding successful garden tour !!! There were 62 groups of people that came out to see my garden. Thankfully I had 6 Master Gardeners helping out to guide the future gardeners with their many many questions. Late in the afternoon, I found out that one of the Master Gardeners was misidentifying the red thyme groundcover as elfin Thyme. :idunno Two ladys that toured alone came back draging their husbands along to show them what she wanted for their gardens. One couple purchased an acre of land and since they were small guage railroad buffs wanted to get ideas as to how to landscape and to lay out the track. The husband upon walking into my back yard let out a yell YAHOO and had the biggest smile that he could muster . He asked me if he could take pictures of my backyard to show his landscape architect as to how to shape his property and lay out his train tracks. Yup ! :woot I kept 2 of my dead maple trees to show the people as to why some of their plant purchases died shortly after they planted them. Most newbies were very grateful that I did show the good with the bad of gardening. The gardeners with gardening experience thanked me for doing so. :caf

One of the Master Gardeners that helped guide this years tour of my garden also teaches landscape architecture at Washington State University. As it turns out, she asked if she could use a slide show of my garden to her students. I agreed. Well, one of her students had been on the garden tour last year and REALLY liked my garden , so she asked this teacher if she could contact me and see if she and her husband and her Landscape Architect could come over and take photos, notes, etc. of my garden and use my garden as the basis of her and her husband's half acre grounds around their new home. They arrived about 3 hours ago and took about 100 photos and asked all kinds of questions to design and install a larger version of mine. The architect asked me if I was a professional landscape architect, I said no.
