I was proud of the San Diego folks during this power outage. No looting, no rioting and when the traffic lights went out everyone just treated intersections as 4 way stops and calmly took their turns. I didn't hear one horn blasting or see one argument about right of way. My neighbor dropped by to tell me he had some bags of ice in his freezer and offer me a couple. I didn't hear any sirens so I guess the police also weren't having any extra trouble.
My area is almost entirely either Mexican or Mexican/American and they are a polite people by nature but outside of everyone losing their AC on one of the hottest days of the year life just went on pretty normally.

here here.

Way to go SD and surrounding communities!

btw: your storm is heading up here. We're in for dry lightening up in the Sierra's, so they issued a hi alert for fires. Too bad we won't get any sprinkles...

That is so awesome to hear, that some people in this country really understand life happens... and these are the best times to be 'neighbor' to your community!!! :D

In Ramona (still in SD county) , here is what happened:

Oh, what a night! Wait, wasn't that a song? Seriously, Ramona seems to have pulled through the night well. There are all kinds of interesting stories, as you can imagine, from how toddler Liam Houck was able to get out of town so he could continue dialysis, to how the frozen bananas got saved at Ramona Family Naturals! Stay tuned for ALL the details :) No reports of looting that we're aware of. Lots of reports of people helping each other. A few reports of people actually having fun.

Nice to know that human beings still have some heart, soul and a sense of responsibility. Go San Diego!

All was well up in North County. We got out the lanterns and flashlights. My friend and her family stopped by for an hour or so. We sat in the yard and chatted, aka had a beer. Kids were happy to have another 3 day weekend.

I didn't leave my property but all seemed to go well.

My husbands family all live in S.D and we didn't even know about the outtage until I read Hoodats post! Goes to show ya where the best source of news is!

At least, this is where I get my news from! :p

We were camping Thursday, far, far away from civilization...
