I let some of my broccoli bolt, so the bees could enjoy the flowers. Much to my surprise, it has now gone to seed. The pods remind me of cleome seeds. Has anyone ever harvested these seeds and planted them the following year?? I always start mine from seed- but always purchased...Thanks!

If you have all the same broccoli I don't see why not?!Just let the pods dry on the plant first.

Were the seeds from a hybrid plant? Hybrids don't usually produce offspring with the same qualities. But if it is an OP variety and was semi isolated then it should be fine.

I remember the seeds were organic, but not much else. I guess I will just try and see what happens... Thanks!

I have never let mine go to seed, rather I go out when the flowers start to bloom pick them and add them to salads, the kids love the thought of edible flowers, and they taste just like the broccoli only milder.

I am sorry, not too good at posting pics... The seed pods look exactly like cleome seeds (if you know what they look like...) They grow at the bottom of the flowers. They look like teeny, skinny beans..Good luck! Keep us posted!
