Broken branch on pear tree

After a bad storm a branch heavy with fruit , partly broke off. when is the best time to prune a pear tree , to shape it? Thanks

If you have a broken branch, now would definitely be the best time to give it a clean cut. It will heal a lot better if you don't leave it shattered. I would wait until very early spring to do the rest of the pruning on the tree, if it needs some shaping.
