Is it too late to start cabbage seed for my area in Idaho? I started cabbage seed in June and transplanted out a few weeks ago, but they look stressed. I have a couple of plants that are okay. I was wondering if I started a few seed inside and transplanted out would it be too late or putting seed right in the garden would that work? I have some seed that are 65 to 75 days. I might have some earlier than that.

Go ahead and plant them. If they get any size at all before a killing frost or freeze, then you at least might get some tender baby cabbage! Go for it!

I have some 60 days with small heads. I think the name is Earliana, so I am just going to put a few seeds in the ground and try it. I think next year I will start plants in July instead of June and see what happens. I tried starting in June the last 2 years and it is not working.
