Obviously not enough new faces or traffic to get new pictures of the week more often than once every several months. I'm not even sure "Picture of the Season" would be an accurate description. Just to give a rough comparison to BYC and maybe put it a bit in perspective. I'm not sure how SufficientSelf and BackyardHerds are doing since I hardly ever go there, but I imagine BYC is the engine that drives these sister forums and gets the attention, as it should. If BYC drops, I imagine all these sister forums would be at risk.
