Last summer I bought 4 fig trees, they need protection in my zone. When their leaves fell off I moved them into a unheated shed. I was hoping for a mild winter. From what I read they still needed small amount of water to live till spring. With all the frozen snow this winter, I couldn't open the shed doors to water. In March with the snow melt I peeked in at them, they looked dried up and dead. Was sure the cold and lack of water did them in. Yesterday I took another look at them, was surprized all 4 had buds. I moved them out of shed and gave them water. Hoping for figs this year !!
