Lowe's has a guage that you just stick in the ground and it gives you a ph reading. Anybody know if these work? Seems a lot easier than dinking around with chemicals.

I have a meter like that. It has 3 settings water, light and ph. I know it's acurate on the first 2 but have nothing to gauge the ph amount to.
I got it for the moisture reading, I used to have a terrible over watering problem, this got me on the right path!!!

I'd love to know the answer to this as I bought one at ACE that has one probe. It is worthless. Having a quick, easy way to check PH is of importance to me.

If it's the Mosser Lee, reviews say it's worthless.

Thanks for the info, Seedcorn. I don't remember what brand it is, but I will check before I buy it.

Rich, I used to have one of those, too, but it was a gift and I never used it. It got thrown away when we moved the last time.
